Welcome to my website!  Apologies if you have visited over the last 4 weeks and been annoyed because my blog is out of date.  The embarrassing truth is that my magnetic bracelet wiped the hard drive of my Mac and like a total idiot I hadn’t backed up my website files.  Doh!  Anyway, my brainy step son Billy has rescued me and I’m back!

For those of you who are new I’m Ruth, I live in Polperro and last April my debut novel “Katy Carter Wants a Hero” was published by Orion.  It’s available in WHS, Waterstones and online too as well as indie book shops! It has sold over 14,000 copies so far which I’m thrilled about but it really needs to keep selling.  If you enjoyed it please tell everyone else! Oh!  And apparently it’s in Harrods too! My next novel with Orion, “Second Thoughts” is out in April 2011.

As well as writing my novels I’m also a regular columnist for the Western Morning News and teach English and Media part time at Bodmin College.  I’m also beginning a new venture this year combining my teaching and writing careers by offering courses for aspiring writers.  Check out my courses page for more details - the venues are amazing and of course in beautiful Polperro, a place that never ceases to inspire me.
